While so many other groups and associations have reduced or eliminated group discounts, MTA's Group Auto program through Hanover Insurance Co. provides members an 10% discount off Massachusetts auto insurance rates and a 6% discount off home insurance rates. For more than 23 years, Bob Wills has assisted MTA members with their insurance needs. He manages the auto, homeowner and business owner programs, and oversees MTA's endorsed programs for life insurance, disability income insurance, long-term care insurance, and dental insurance and tax-sheltered accounts.

Anne Donovan, who supervises the insurance division, has been with MTAB since 1999, has extensive experience and education in the areas of service and customer satisfaction. She has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Boston and an Advanced Professional Certificate from Sawyer School of Management, Suffolk University, In addition, she regularly attends insurance-related seminars. Her responsibilities include overseeing and integrating the objectives of the three departments in the insurance division. Once your policy is issued, our staff of customer service representatives are there to respond to your needs in the areas of claims processing, registering autos, upgrading coverage, adding new operators to your policy and any other concerns you may have with your auto, homeowners or umbrella policy. Our automated call distribution phone system provides you with immediate access to staff. We have achieved an 82% rate in our goal is to respond to 80% of the incoming insurance calls within 20 seconds. Many members are on their lunch break or calling between classes so getting calls responded to promptly is of the utmost importance to all staff. With more than 100 years of combined insurance experience, our representatives are prepared to provide you with an accurate and timely answer to your policy questions. Processing The processing department implements simplifies your life by taking care of all changes for adding, deleting or transferring automobiles to your policy. Barbara Foley, Judith Varela and Patricia Smith also verify registry information on vehicles and the accuracy of an operator's current driving record. In addition, the staff reviews insurance company transactions to assure that our requests have been processed accurately. These staff members work closely with our insurance company partners in the areas of quality control, policyholder billing, new business processing and other computer transaction processing issues.
